I have happily rediscovered a childhood friend last met when we were ten-year olds in St Louis. Now based in Texas, Suzy is still doing remarkable things. In Florence, Italy!

Internationally Renowned Artist SUZY OLSEN   has arranged a thrilling summer week-long stay in one of the most beautiful places on the planet, FLORENCE… Home to DaVinci, fabulous Renaissance artists and thinkers. Seven heavenly days are now being made available THIS SUMMER to ARTISTS, PHOTOGRAPHERS, FOOD ENTHUSIASTS & ADVENTURERS. You will be living in a Castle in Florence, very near to Dante’s exile.

Offered at an exceptional price. Seven days, starting Saturday May 4th to may to Saturday, May 11th.

INCLUDING:

~~ 7 NIGHT STAY IN TUSCAN CASTLE

~~ NEAR POPPI ~ THE UNSPOILED MOUNTAINOUS CASENTINO REGION

This workshop offers watercolor classes,  pen and ink,  photography, plus three cooking classes from Master Chef Daniela Cursi who will teach her traditional local dishes of the Casentino.

“We will visit local picturesque hill towns, visit POPPI ~~ one of the most beautiful hill towns in Italy famous for the Guidi Castle where Dante stayed in exile. We are just a few minutes from Poppi.
One of the highlights will be a trip to The famous SANTUARIO LA VERNA. This Franciscan Monastery  is well-known as the temporary home of SAINT FRANCIS, where he ascended and received the stigmata. There is a large collection of very exquisite DELLA ROBBIA  Ceramic Sculptures inside the Chapel at the mountain precipice of the Sanctuary.
This area is one of the most beautiful unspoiled parts of Tuscany, not yet overwhelmed with tourists.

Our previous offer has been upgraded to stay at this local Castle which is a much larger space with more views and places to explore in the village of Ortignano only a few minutes walk.
We will do seven days, start Saturday May 4th to may to Saturday, May 11th.

    • Wow, world traveler. I loved reading the travellogblog you’re starting to post, Casablanca, Peru et al.
I know Suzy Olsen would be thrilled, and she’s a majorly dearheart and you’re in for a very good time. Her email address is toward the bottom of the post. I don’t have any connection beyond that, would you like me to send her your email?
      You’d get along very well.
      xxoo

    • I agree, frought with Just One More Day moments. Though the airfare is less than the castle/classes week with all the pluses, and finds are probably out there. I don’t like flying either. But it’s a long swim, and I’d want my own yacht. Maybe I’ll wait til they build the bridge, I know it’s coming..

Your opinions are welcome
