This is my first published children’s book, CoCo NO!
It’s the story of the parrot CoCo, who always says NO!
And her owner Angel, who is always saying YES! to the neighbors with emergencies, car trouble, broken refrigerator motors or too many squirrels in the attic.
CoCo flies off in a bad thunderstorm, Angel spends day and night searching, consults the moon in heartbroken despair, and is reunited with his mischievous parrot at long last.
I wrote the true story, told me by my Brooklyn neighbor Angel, and did the illustrations. I used pen, ink, and colored pencil.
It’s sold all over the world since 2004, and had a nice run.
